Reliance Jio has extended the last date of its Prime membership plan. Now users can enroll for the company’s Prime membership up to April 15 instead of March 31. The company also launched a new ‘Summer Surprise’ offer for customers.
Under the new plan, Jio will be giving users three months of complimentary service along. The regular paid tariffs will be applied in July, once the three-month offers ends.
“We have heard your voice, and we are extending the deadline for purchasing Jio’s Rs 303 (and other) plans till 15th April. This extension will provide the necessary breathing room for users to avoid service disruption during the transition from free to paid services,” said Reliance Jio chairman Mukesh Ambani in a press statement.
The company said that almost 72 million Jio customers have signed up for the Jio Prime services within a span of one month. It claimed that this is the largest migration from free to paid services in history in such a short time span.
As announced during the launch of the Jio Services in September 2016, the domestic voice calls will continue to remain free. Roaming too will be free on Jio’s network. Reliance Jio chairman Ambani had also said that Reliance Jio will provide 20% additional data as compared to other competitors in the market.
